Privacy Policy — Dayarc
Effective date: September 7, 2026

1. The short version
Dayarc runs entirely on your own devices. It does not have permission to use the internet, it has no servers, and the developer never receives your health information.
There is one exception, and it is the only one: if you use the optional voice command feature, your speech is handled by the speech recognition service built into your phone, which may send audio to its provider (normally Google) to convert it to text. That is described in full in section 5.
2. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Dayarc phone app, its Wear OS companion, and the Dayarc watch face itself. It applies to anyone who installs any of them.
This app is not intended for children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the profile screen will not accept an age below 13.
3. What the app accesses, and why
3.1 Health Connect data
With your explicit permission, granted through Android's Health Connect, the app reads:
| Data | Why | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Heart rate | To draw the heart-rate ring and speak optional spoken alerts | Today only |
| Steps | To draw the step ring and speak the optional step-goal alert | Today only |
| Hydration | To draw the hydration ring and track cups against a daily goal | Today only |
With your permission, the app also writes hydration records to Health Connect when you log a cup of water, and deletes that same record if you undo the entry. This is a direct result of you tapping the control; the app does not write hydration data on its own.
You can grant or revoke each of these permissions at any time in Health Connect. Revoking them stops the app reading or writing that data immediately. The app remains usable; the affected ring simply stops showing data.
3.2 The profile you enter
The settings screen asks for your age and weight. These are used only to calculate your personal heart-rate zone and are stored on your phone. A copy of the profile and your current readings is sent to your paired watch so the watch face can draw the correct rings.
3.3 Microphone (optional)
The app requests microphone access only if you choose to use voice commands. See section 5.
4. Where your data is stored
On your devices, and nowhere else.
- Health data stays in Health Connect, which is part of your phone. The app reads from it and writes hydration to it; it does not copy that data anywhere else.
- Your profile (age, weight) and your daily hydration count are stored in the app's own private storage on your phone, in an area other apps cannot read.
- Readings and your profile are sent to your paired Wear OS watch over the Wear OS Data Layer, a local transport provided by Google Play services. That transfer is between your own two devices. Depending on how your watch is connected, Google Play services may relay this through Google's infrastructure — this is standard Wear OS behaviour and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
The app does not hold the INTERNET permission. It cannot, by itself, transmit anything to the developer or to any third party.
5. Voice features — read this part
The app has two separate voice features. They behave differently and it matters which is which.
Spoken alerts (text-to-speech). The app can read short alerts aloud, such as reaching your step goal. It uses the text-to-speech engine installed on your device. Some text-to-speech engines fetch voices over the network; which engine is used, and how it behaves, is controlled by your device settings, not by this app.
Voice commands (speech recognition). If you enable voice commands and press the microphone button, the app hands the request to your device's speech recognition service using Android's standard SpeechRecognizer. **That service may transmit your audio to its provider — normally Google — to convert it to text.** This app does not choose that, cannot prevent it, and never receives or stores the audio itself. It receives only the resulting text, uses it immediately, and does not keep it.
If you are not comfortable with that, **do not grant microphone permission and do not use voice commands.** Every other feature works without it.
Audio handled by Google's speech recognition is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
6. What the app does NOT do
To be explicit, because with health apps the absences matter as much as the presences:
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no login.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting. No third-party analytics SDK is present.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone, for any purpose. There is no mechanism in the app by which that could happen.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No location data is requested or accessed.
- The developer has no access to your health information. None of it reaches the developer.
7. How long data is kept
- Health Connect data is kept by Health Connect under your control, not by this app. Delete it through Health Connect at any time.
- Your profile and hydration count are stored on your phone until you delete them. Clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app, removes them.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything the app stored on your devices. Hydration records the app previously wrote into Health Connect belong to Health Connect and remain there until you delete them there — the same as any other app's records.
8. Your rights
Because your data stays on your own devices, you control it directly:
- Access and export — through Health Connect, for anything the app read or wrote there.
- Correction — edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Deletion — revoke permissions, delete records in Health Connect, clear app storage, or uninstall.
- Withdraw consent — revoke any permission at any time in Android settings or Health Connect, without losing access to the rest of the app.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, health data is a special category of personal data. The app processes it **solely on your device, on the basis of your explicit consent**, given through Health Connect's permission prompts, and only to display it back to you. You can withdraw that consent at any time as described above. Because no personal data is transmitted to or held by the developer, there is no copy for the developer to access, rectify, or erase on request.
If you are a California resident, the developer does not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and has not done so.
9. Important: this is not a medical app
**Dayarc is a display and reminder tool. It is not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.**
- The app does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease or condition.
- The numbers it shows come from your phone, watch, and Health Connect. Their accuracy is not guaranteed and consumer wearable sensors can be wrong.
- The heart-rate "zone" it displays is a rough estimate from the common
220 − ageformula. That formula is a population average and may be materially wrong for you. - Never use this app to make a medical decision. Talk to a qualified healthcare provider about anything concerning your health.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Do not rely on this app.
The developer is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, and this app is not a HIPAA-regulated service.
10. Security
Data stored by the app lives in Android's private per-app storage and is protected by the operating system's sandbox and by your device's own encryption and screen lock. **Keeping a screen lock on your phone and watch is the single most effective thing you can do to protect this data.** No security measure is perfect, and no guarantee of absolute security is offered.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes affecting how your data is handled will be noted in the app's Play Store listing. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
